About Dr. Forrest

Dr. Forrest received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology in 1981. After spending his final semester at the State Hygienic Laboratories, General Microbiology, he worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Department of Pathology, Medical Microbiology.

Dr. Forrest completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Iowa in 1985 and relocated to Des Moines. Dr. Forrest founded Westown Parkway Dental Affiliates, PC in 1988 and is currently the Senior Partner of Berkshire Dental.

Dr. Forrest has had an interest in CAD/CAM porcelain systems and has authored articles located in Dental Products Report and Compendium. Berkshire Dental today utilizes the iTero scanner used for diagnostic planning for implants, esthetic porcelain cases and Invisalign treatment. He restored his first implant in 1989 and continues to provide implant treatment that has evolved over 30 years.

Invisalign has brought about changes in esthetic cases, moving teeth into the proper position and providing conservative treatment options, including better function.

It has been my honor to treat the next generation of children and provide treatment options that are made available because of the successful research and applications of new materials.

Dr. Forrest is married to Kelley K. Koch, BSN, MS and have 3 children. He has been involved with the Animal Rescue League and continues to promote their contribution to this community. He is no doubt an avid Hawkeye fan and looks forward to the fall and winter sports events. Snow skiing, hiking, fishing are some of his current interests.

Dr. Forrest is a member and fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and Iowa Academy of General Dentistry and served as the President of the IAGD from 2008-2009. Dr. Forrest is also a member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association and Iowa Dental Association.
